Once I actually receive and install the Bedrug I probably won't be so paranoid. It just sounds like it would be easy to rip off. Well perhaps it will be delivered today.

I'd think they don't get swiped very often - ordinary thief might not realize that the things cost $300 or more.

With the tie-downs mounted on top of the rug, you're talking some serious work to get the bedrug out. Plus the thief would have to come up with the matching heavy Velcro stripping in order to install it on another truck.

Plus, unless you know it's velcroed in you might well imagine it's glued in and won't come out easily and not worth trying to swipe. It makes a very loud ripping noise when you pull it away from the Velcro too, you'd easily hear it from inside a house I'd think even if it were parked on the street.

And finally, the things just plain awkward when it's out of the bed and zipped together, someone's not going to stick it in their back seat or trunk very easily to make off with it (unless of course, they're in a truck - but even then unless you weighted it down it would blow out of the bed.)

Got mine in four days for $317 total from company in Arizona.
I use it without a lid of any kind, and the charcoal black carpet has lightened up a bit in the SoCal sun.

Man was I dissapointed. The Bedrug show up but it is for a Flair Side not a Style Side. Called Wise Industried. Very good people. they said that the order came through for a FS, but they would send out the correct model for my truck. I am to call them to arrange pick up on the wrong Bedrug when I recieve the new one. Excellent customer service.

Bummer. It'll be worth the wait though.

You could get a head start by cleaning out the bed of your truck. Get some isopropyl alcohol from the local drugstore so you'll have it to remove the wax (if any) in your bed where you'll be attaching the velcro.

The only issue I have with my home-brew installation is that up at the front of the bed, in the corners, the bedrug doesn't quite stay "tucked in" - if I push on it, I can tell that it's not quite flush into the corner. I'd have to remove the whole thing and reseat it. Not a great big deal, but more hassle than it's worth. After you get the velcro mounted on the bed, if the rug itself comes anywhere near a velcro strip, it latches on to it making it a hassle to manipulate single handed. Easier if you have a helper.
