I want a bed liner and I am not quite sure which way to go. This vehicle is mostly for recreational use and hauling wood on occassion. Should I go with the sprayed on type, and is it true this is the best for keeping out moisture? Yes I do have a torneau cover (soft). Thanks, all suggestions are welcomed.

 

I've had Line-X put in my last two trucks, gotta love it. I've seen others with the Rino lining, but the Line-X looks a lot better for longer and only requires a little work to keep it looking nice about once a year. You may be able to find other spay-in liners for less, but there quality won't come even close to Line-X.

 

I have to agree with whitestx. I originally had a drop in duraliner when I bought my truck. After researching spray ins, I also decided on a line-x. Top quality work.

Under my drop-in, the paint was scratched and some surface rust had begun. For me a spray in is worth it, but it all depends on what you want. Do scratches in you paint matter, surface rust, looks. There are many options such as bedrugs, drop ins, spray ins (many different types), some you can even do yourself. My vote goes for Line-X. I am very happy with mine.

I've got Line-X in my truck. It is great, just don't spill cement on it and then get it wet... Very hard to get out :P

 

I have a bedrug in my truck.

Is it possible to spray in line X, and then install the bedrug again?
Kinda the best of both worlds if it would work.

Since you are using it mostly for recreational use. The nice thing about a bedrug is that it is padded. Its like having another trunk, plus you can sleep on it since it makes your bed flat and its padding makes the area comfortable on you, your knees, etc.. if you are going to frequently haul concrete or items of that sort, get a spray in, otherwise I say go for a bedrug..

 

Spray in is the only way to go. I've got a Toff... more than a 1/4 inch thick on the bottom, virtually indestructible... and if you do manage to tear it, a new section can be resprayed. Impervious to gasoline, oil, urine, and many other chemicals.

Makes the bed quieter. Makes it rustproof. Way better than a drop in, which will rattle and permit water underneath.

I struggled over the same thing with my new truck. I would have gone with the rhino liner over the hard plastic liner that you see on most trucks for the same reason that most people have mentioned (noise, moisture, and rust).

But then I saw a truck with the Bedrug and just loved the way it looked. I use my tuck for hauling around stuff for my kids soccer teams, mostly coolers and soccer gear. So the bed rug is perfect.
I hose it down to get out all the dirt and grass at the end of the weekend and it drys looking new.

If I ws using my truck for a lot of heavy duty hauling I would have gone with the spray on but if your just using it for family type stuff then I think the bedrug is a better option.

 

Line-X all the way. Great product.

 

Had Line-X on my last F-150 and it was the best liner I have ever had. Top notch quality and looked good too.


I also had him do a "Bug Shield" for me too on the truck. Looked great and was very durable!

 

Rhino! But if you have a cover I'd just go with carpet..

 

i had rhino in the lightning and my sis has line-x in the king ranch and i like the line-x better. the rhino is more grippy but the line-x seems to hold up and looks better. they both have lifetime warranties so you should be good to go. the great thing about a spray in besides the rust protection is that you get the use of your whole bed where a drop in eliminates a lot of room and tends to vibrate and warp.

 

I have a drop in platic bedliner in my truck and it doesnt seem to rattle at all. even when driving down gravel roads or bumpy places.

How much does a 1/4" thick coating of line-x cost? i dont like the idea of rust at all, and i get worried with my drop in

 

Price-wise it's all over the place.

From $320 to $450 is what I've seen.

I wouldn't bother spraying an old(er) truck that already had a drop-in.

 

I talked with the local Line-X shop and came away quite impressed with their attention to detail. I think I'm going to Line-X the bed of my L. But....

I really like the idea of a padded, carpeted non-slip floor of my bed. Does anybody know of a company that makes BedRug -type bed mats? I think a Line-X'd bed with a removable padded BedRug mat only on the floor would be great!
