Truck Caps

Anyone ever see a truck cap that makes your F-150 look like an Expedition? If so, where do I look?

Thanks
Habibi

You rpbably want a low profile cab-height cap. Check out A.R.E. and Leer. I'm sure there are other brands out there that you might like, but those two are the better quality.

Thumbs up

Thanks Rick. Now i've seen one that looks like mine, only mine is a six foot one.

I just scored a Leer 100 ?? looks like Rick's only longer, solid glass all the way to the bottom, no real venting, and no third light although it looks like it may of had a window mount third light at one time.

I bought it for $200. The side glass apparently leaked at one time and someone took silicone to it. I had the glass taken out by a glass company, took the glass to a different shop and had them tinted, and painted it myself at work. It was maroon, and my truck is green. After i was done with the paint, i took it back and had the glass installed. I'm into it for a total of $280. $40 for glass R&I, $40 for tint, the paint was free. I even painted the inside the same as the truck. The white was horrible to look at in the mirror.

This cap makes it look like an Expo.

I looked high and low for a cap. Did'nt care what it was, aluminum with the pinstriped tinted bubbles would have been fine. I just wanted one to have if i had to move something. I ended up tripping over this one and it looks sweet. Never give up i guess. Now i don't mind leaving it on. Really don't like caps in general, but it looks great, way nicer than anything i was expecting to find.

My mileage has gone down 1.5 MPG, and it feels spongey on the highway, But it's damn convienent.

Now i need to rig up a pully system to lift it on/off quick by myself.

Keep your eyes open, a lot of trucks are popping up at the end of their lease. On a trade or wholesale truck, the cap has no value. Talk someone out of theirs before they turn their truck in.

Habibi, you can find the links for Leer/ARE from product review or product directories. The Leer emblem on mine says it came from Humpty's Truck Caps in Orilla, Ontario. Somehow it endend up 2.5 hours directly South of you. Probably because of the exchange rate.

Happy hunting!
