Poboy bed cover!
Poboy bed cover!
When I first fot my truck I immediatly wanted a bed cover, but I have a large tool box in the back of the truck I need. I looked around, but custom covers were way too much, and I couldn't afford to loose the tool box.....
So I looked around at the hardware store and found aluminum "C"channels.....I riveted these flush with the top of the bed rails, and then slid two peices of 1/2" marine plywood into the "C" channels. I bought a third "C" channel for the joint of the two peices of wood......I made an "H" channel to hold the two peices from warping different ways.
The cover works great, a little tough to slide in and out when its wet, or humid outside, but overall with some ocassional black paint it works wonderfuly! It's pretty water-proof, saves gas, and was a WHOLE lot cheaper than buying a manufactured cover!
I'll take some pics if anyone wants to see them!
