Benefits of plastic bed-liners?

Can anyone think of the benefits of a hard plastic bed-liner? I'm considering taking mine out and installing a do-it-yourself spray-in liner, but don't want to act too hastily, especially since the plastic one is in and seems to work fine. Any big pitfalls to keeping the had plastic one?

Cool

The plastic ones have a few good protective points. The bad news is that they rub the paint off in spots almost immediately, moisture/dirt does have an entrance under them, and they rattle.

The "cons" faaaaaar outweigh the "pros". I've had both liners.
I'll never buy another drop-in. They are cheaper than a spray-in.
The drop in protects your bed from dents more than a spray-in.
The drop in is cheaper. That's it.
The spray in is more durable, protects the longevity of your
bed forever, and makes your ride quieter (because everything
back there in the bed is essentially bonded together, and
under about 1/4-in of spray material).
I've had a Line-X for over a year now. Best $378 I ever spent.
