I wanted to buy the stainless steel pop-up rings (part # VAC3Z-99000A64-B) but I just discovered my 2012 F-150 Lariat does not have the pop out holes on the plastic bed rails. Anyone else encounter this and is there a solution? I really need tie down somethings on the top of the rails.

The 5.5 bed does not have the "cutouts" over the stake holes but the 6.5 bed does. It appears that people have just cut out the plastic over the stake holes and install the hooks.

I assume you could cut enough of the plastic away so that the hook's plastic frame sit flush with the bed cap and I have also seen where others just set the hooks on top of the bed cap and not worry about a precise hole being cut.
