Yeah, I saw that.
And I wonder how long that vinyl sheet, that appears to be laminated to the aluminum-skinned panels, will last in the hot sun? It looks like that one-piece vinyl constitutes the panel hinge material (hence, the rain-proofing), flexing every time the cover is opened / closed.

I just saw on one of the Bakflip websites that the VP cover is supposed to start shipping by the end of July - so that answers my quesion in that it will probably be some additional time before the resellers will have them in stock.

Well, if the VP's vinyl is like the Roll-N-Lock's vinyl (which it probably is), then you'll be wise to keep some sort of conditioner on it, like 303.

Thanks - the summer heat here in Alabama is lately getting to be pretty dreadful, and I'd be looking for some way to help give that vinyl top surface a longer service life.

I'm waiting for the release of this too. When it becomes available, where is the best place to get one? (I don't know the sponsors on here well enough yet to know which ones sell them - only had the truck a month)

Thanks.

I think that one of the sponsors on here, AutoAnything, sells the Bak covers.

Has anyone ventured to get one or has seen one? I am really thinking about it but I would like to know opinions on the vinyl top. Does it look like it will withstand years of weather and being folded and unfolded? I don't mind putting a conditioner on it, I just don't want it fading and cracking after 1 summer of use.

Well, I just installed it.

The vinyl looks really nice, but the weatherstripping around the edges I am less than impressed with. Not on the bed rail side, but where the rubber mates to the vinyl... It does not seem to have adhered well. I am not sure how I feel about it other than a little disappointed... I feel they could have done better.
