Touching up Line-X
Touching up Line-X
Has anyone done any touch up work on their Line-X bedliner? I recently bought my truck and it already had the Line-X in it. There are some scratches through it to the metal and I'd like to give the whole bed a face lift with a new coat of something. I don't want to buy some roll on stuff if its not going to take and stick to the Line-X. Let me know if you have any ideas or have done this yourself. Thanks!
Go to a LINE-X dealer and get LINE-X ReNew. It's a one-time fix and includes either Premium or Xtra so it won't fade or lose its gloss. You will never have to apply any sort of conditioner to it, just wash it with automotive soap.
I stopped in the local Line-X dealer and discussed doing the Renew on the existing. Quoted me $450 and said it wouldn't have a warranty. They told me if I wanted a warranty, they would have to remove the existing Line-X before applying a new one. I am leaning towards, sanding down the existing Line-X some and try applying a DIY roll on to freshen it up and cover the scratches up. Yeah I might have to do it annually to keep it looking good, surely it will look better than the current faded, scratched up Line-X.
You need to call another LINE-X dealer. ReNew should be around $249 to maybe $269.
Go to linex.com and use the "Locate A Dealer" function.
You will not get good adhesion by applying a DIY product onto LINE-X. Eventually, it will delaminate, like below.
