Roll-Bak cover installed

Well after 8 months of trying to figure out which cover to get I went ahead and purchased a Bak roll up design cover for my 2010 Crew Cab.

As most will note that the instructions can be vague but it wasn't too bad. Approx 2 hours to install by myself. 1 drill and 2 open end wrenches and this is what I have got.

Looks good! I am in the same boat trying to figure out what to get. Still leaning towards a bak flip but not sure which one of those...G2, HD, F1...too many choices.

For the price I figured I would go with a retractable style cover. I was going to buy a flip and if I did it would be the F1. I talked to a manufacturer and I guess the F1 was lighter and more durable than the G2 or HD. Too many choices. It rained hard with the wind blowing today and I have alittle bit of water in the bed. It seems to be coming from the tailgate area as the driving rain was sneaking by the corners of the seal. I am happy with it so far, but have not even driven the truck so we will see this weekend.

In fact the water is coming through the small areas around the tailgate step, in which the tailgate seal can not seal. Just a FYI for anyone looking into this cover. I will address that at a later date.

With the heavy rain we had it was wet for sure. Light rain it wouldn't be so bad. The issue is the holes are enough size that it needs to be addressed or water will get in. If you had a bedrug it would be wet each time it rained. I am going to work on it this weekend and see what I can come up with.

Congrats on the new cover. It looks good.

I'm picking one tomorrow - a 2 year old Ford soft rollup that was never installed or taken out of the box. Looking forward to it.

I'm not a big fan of the RollBak or Peragon. For one, I don't like the bulb seal against the inside of the tailgate. To me, a cover should cover a portion of the top of the tailgate. In addition, it's too easy to stick a crowbar where the bulb seal is.

How far do the rails protrude into the bed?
