LEER Topper

I just got a new Leer 100XQ. It is unacceptable. No matter what their literature says about "perfect fit", it is about 3/8" wider on both side at the front than at the back. I am trying to understand it this is a Leer issue or a Ford issue. Any help? Any contacts at Leer Midwest?

My Astro top is the same. I believe due to the taper in the bed. It takes some shifting around to balance out the sides.

Topper Gap

Westpoint, I don't know how to post pictures- yet. Looking at your photo close up of the front, What is bothering me is the gap between (what Leer call the extension) horn and the body. On mine it is about 3/8" on EACH side and tight at the stern. If the gap were smaller and if it were consistant all the way back, I might have less to complain about. But it isn't. I am going to a dealer that Leer asked me to see and we will see what they have to say but I am not happy with the fit.

I think they could manufacture the top to fit the bed dimensions tight, but don't for the fact that you would not be able to slide the top from rear to front as normally installed. I'm not even sure it would drop down vertically without interference. If the horn as you say was tapered back it would create a narrower point on the cap not allowing the cap to be slid down the bed rails. I'd be interested to know what the dimensions of the pickup bed are at the front vs. the back. Just a guess as why the extra 3/8" exists.

Angry Leer-Truck Accessories Group=Junk!

Biggest mistake I ever made, leaks like hell from day one, craftsmenship is poor, warranty backing worse I have ever seen! They wanted to take my cap back and leave me with out a thing so they could evaluate issue at the manufacturer,,,,What was I supposed to do in the mean time?
They had issues with it the day it was installed and they still exist now and they still have not responded to me!!!
Don't go to Auto-Ad-Onz in Davison, MI!!
I will never purchase anything TAG related nor J.Poindexter the parent Co.
