BakFlip F1 - how hard to take it all the way off?

Howdy gang-

I've been reading about the F1, and am about 90% sure I will order one very soon. However I have a question I have not been able to find an anwser for-

If I want to take the folding panels off, but leave the rails on - how tough is it to do this? How long does it take to mount/dismount? How heavy are the panels / can a 'normal' person hand carry them?

Thanks,
Jerry

Pretty simple. Two anchor bolts and that it's. I can do it by myself with no problems in a few minutes.

Yep, 2 thumb nuts and the panel lifts off. The panels, once folded sre easy to lift off, about 40lbs.

X3- It took me about a half hour to completly install. That includes rails, drain tubes and cover. If your only taking the cover off, it will take a minute or two!

Kewl, Thanks guys.

I am a fan of http://www.tonneaucoversworld.com/

Had several people buy stuff through them, prices are competitive.

I was planning to get an F1 through a third party online site, but an answer from a BakFlip rep to an e-mail question I had recommended to buy "direct" through them because there are "lots" of "older" stock distributed to retailers that may not have the "latest design" changes.

Not sure if this was simply a plug to pay almost MSRP direct the manufacturer or if this is a legitimate issue and there have been indeed design improvements in the product that warrants buying direct to ensure the latest "version" is received.

Well, I finally got my F1 installed yesterday. Bought it thru a local shop, after tax and install, it was around $950.

I really like it so far. Install was very straight forward, all the parts fit "like they were made for my truck"

It looks good, fits good, I think I will like it.
