Weird Bed Cover mod?

Me and my friend were talking the other day and talking about how we like having a hard tonneau cover as opposed to a soft cover or camper shell.. but we'd like to be able to keep the cover installed and lift it straight up and have like 2 or 3 chairs in the back you can unfold and just have a relaxing, shaded evening sittin in the back of your truck at the lake or beach... i know it sounds weird, but my 2 thoughts would be either removing the hinge and installing another lock assembly on the other side and add 2 more hydraulics and all 4 lifts would go up... or to fabricate a scissor lift type structure that bolts onto the inside of the bed, and when you open it, it has tightened springs that contract, pulling the lift together and making it go up...

i know its a weird idea, and im sure there's something out there that would solve this... but i figured id see what everyone else thought. Its just an idea, so give me your opinions

thanks

Zach

I think you could start with an Undercover. Lightweight, disengages in seconds.

That is actually faily easy to fabricate....if you do a bought cover, they are a little heavy, there are aftermarket electrically actuated hydraulic & mechanical rams that would work just for an application like that (the RV inductry uses them- of check out on youtube the TV show..pimp my ride- they used them alot in all sorts of applications). The only work really is to fab up the brackets and that really isn't a big deal.
