I ordered smooth bed rail caps, and I am planning on painting them to match. I would like to paint my tailgate cap, but I don't see any aftermarket tailgate caps from ford except for the one from Street Scene. Is the factory tailgate cap paintable? Will it be smooth?

bed rail caps? No. I bought them through truckaddons.com They had a 16% off sale on them before xmas. Street Scene makes them. They look sharp. Just gotta paint them now.

 

Sorry i didn't quite understand what you meant in the first post, but i would buy the street scene ones to keep the smooth look. I'm not sure about the 08's but the 97-03 stock bed caps are textured.
