Extang Tonneau cover question

I am thinking about buying a Extang Tuff Tonno III no snap cover. Can anyone tell me what they think about this cover, or what other covers you would recommend that is no snap and no velcro. Thanks

I had that some cover on my 2000 Tacoma. 8 years and no issues. I used Aerospace 303 on it and that helped keep the cover in good condition.

I recently got a 2010 SCREW and I upgraded to the Extang FullTilt snapless. It's about $100 more. The imo is well worth the extra money. It looks identical to the Tuff Tonno, but the entire cover tilts up toward the cab. It has two little shocks on each side. You can roll the cover up like the Tuff Tonno, but you can also pop off he shocks lift the entire cover up and take the entire cover off the truck (very easily).

It's nice that you don't always have to unroll it to get into the bed. Especially when it's cold the cover won't snap easily. With the Full tilt you can just lift it up and also take it off an on in the winter.

With the tuff tonno, If you take it off in the winter, the only way to get it back on is with a heated garage, hot water and sometimes a torpedo heater.

Either way you won't be disappointed Extang has a great quality product.

I will second the Full-Tilt vote. Mine has snaps because I got a smokin' deal on it, but the snapless look is soooo much cleaner. I also thought I'd roll it up once in awhile, but (a) I haven't needed to, and 2) you can't remove the bows without frame dis-assembly anyway (which I still think is weird).

I had the TT III on my 2000 Ranger while I had it for about 6 months. Really liked the cover, but know that it's pretty much an all on, or all-rolled-up scenario. Unlike a snap-on cover, you can't really just pop a corner and let a 10' 2x2 hang out, or loosen just the last 12" to let the lawn mower handle stick up. (Well, not easily. Mine always wanted to come "unzipped" the rest of the way.)

And I'll concur with the cold-weather PITA part. This is true of any cover, but especially an issue with the zip-lock system.

Extang does make a good product, and they stand behind their warranty.

I had a lund snap on soft cover and it worked but hated taking it on and off with all the snaps. I switched to an Extang Revolution and love it....rolls up easy, locks in quick and has stayed tight for over a year. Wouldn't switch to anything else.

I think that may be the only advantage of the snaps. I was never a fan, probably because a friend had one that the buttons were all rusted, but that was about 15 years ago. I'm sure they're made better nowadays.

Once you unsnap a corner it does want to unsnap the entire way.

Thanks for all of the great info... I am still in limbo about these covers. I also had someone tell me that the Trifecta is probably the most popular and best selling one out from Extang.

Who knows???? I need to make a decision soon.

Either Tuff Tonneau III or Trifecta……..

I have a Trifecta and it is excellent. They are built very well and is watertight on my F150.

I love my Trifecta. I have had it for over 3 years and not one issue.
