Cap compatibility

Apologies if this has been covered before. I did a quick search of this part of the forum and didn't see anything on this topic...

I have a 2004 F150 Supercab and have been looking for a used cap. I've found plenty of caps, but mostly to fit Dodge, Chevy, etc. I did find a like new cap from a 2002 F150 Supercab and was wondering if that will fit the '04 or if there is too much difference between the body styles.

Thanks in advance for any help!

John

There is too much of a difference between the 97-03 (and 04 Heritage) and 04 + body styles - they don't look "right". I see you're in PA, not sure which part but try Ishler's Truck Caps in Mount Joy, PA. They sell new & used caps and have over 100 caps in stock.

I hope this helps!

Thanks, copcarguy. I was afraid of that answer but thought I'd check anyway.

Ishler's isn't too far ... hadn't thought of them. I'm north of Lebanon so Mt Joy isn't far at all. It's been a long time since I was over that way and forgot about them.

Ishlers was an over 3 hour ride for me. I found them by Googling, they had a new cap in my correct color and took my used one as a trade. I posted about the saga here lol:

I hope you can find a cap that works for you...

The big problem is fords have some pretty large side fiberglass skirts that cover up the factory bed caps. Pretty much the only thing that will fit yours is 2004-08.

You may be able to find an aluminum topper and make it work, it wont look pretty though.
