Looking for topper weather seal recommendations.
Looking for topper weather seal recommendations.
Hi:
I recently purchased a used Raven topper for my 2002 F-150 extended cab. I plan using the topper only when I go camping, so I will probably will be putting the topper on the truck and taking it off a few times a year. I'm looking for an effective/durable weather seal that I won't have to replace every time I want to put the topper back on the truck. I have seen the inexpensive seal tape (link below) but it doesn't look very durable.
I'd appreciate any recommendations.
Thanks

It looks like the stuff that was used on my 01 screw's are fiberglass top(mine may have been a tad thicker hard to tell from pic)...I took it on and off several times over 5 years or so and it did fine. I think you would only have a problem if you left it off for a while and let the elements get to it. And it would also be more prone to you snagging stuff on it and ripping it up/off.
I used a double hump seal from cargogear.net If I remember correctly, it ran about $1.20 a foot. I take my cap off to switch to my tonnoue cover a few times a year. I use the normal truck bed seal(1/8" thick closed cell foam) for the soft cover.
