Whiote truck black cap

So I'm kicking around getting an A.R.E. cap (z series). I see there's one on eBay 4 hrs away for a pretty reasonable price. However, it's black. Will that look like crap on my white truck? I'm not sure if it's worth saving the money if it looks retarded.

There's also a white Eagle Craft not too far away for only $550. Anyone ever see one of these in person? Are they alright?

Oops, wrong post.

Edit: but I still don't think a black cap will look bad on a white truck. I've seen much worse color combination's.

Depends on what your paying for it. I got my Z for 350 then removed the windows and door myself. Had it sprayed for $300. $10 for a roll of foam tape to reinstall the windows (got through the local A.R.E. dealer to be sure of proper seal) and was good to go. Came out way ahead of the $1300 price for a new one. Only tricky part was drilling out the rivets for the rear door glass frame. Just have to be carefull. I was told by one dealer that the replacement door glass was $700. Some of the white 2 sided tape they use to position the windows wasn't the easiest to remove, but other wise not a bad job. By the way , I have a white truck and the cap was originally dark green.

The z has a starting bid of 350...but I'm not sure of the reserve.

If you do a search for A.R.E. caps on here, you should find a thread with a picture of a 2006 or 2007 white truck with this cap and you can see how good it looks. I remember seeing it when I was researching caps for my truck. A lot of people think they look like an Expedition but I think there's enough of a difference and if you need a cap the Z is the way to go. Much better than The Leer. Snug Top is another good one but aren't sold in all areas of the country. I don't run mine all the time, but with the short bed, it's eazy to switch to my soft tonoue cover. Good luck on your bid. Hopefully, nobody else will bid on it. Also, when you do a google search, do a search for F150 topper. This is a common reference in some areas.
