need help deciding which bedcover is right for me!
ok, i have a 2002 f150, with the 6.5' bed i guess
thing is is i have a tool box in the bed and i would like to keep that, and all the crap thats in there. id LOVE to have a hard cover that lifts up with the shocks or whatever those are called, but i wouldnt be able to climb in the bed and haul stuff around unless i took it off, so ive been looking at these fold/roll up ones, would that fold/roll all the way up to where i could still get in my toolbox? really the toolbox is the only thing keeping me from getting the hard lift up cover, i would like to have one to match the paint and lock and all that, but i NEED my toolbox and everything in it

I have an Xtang roll up cover that sits entirely on top of the bed rails and has cross bars to keep it from sagging. The problem you may have is with the six inch diameter roll that the thing makes when you have it open. This roll would sit right at the base of your rear glass. By the looks of the picture you attached, it may be a bit tight getting the top open on your tool box (looks like you would only have a couple inches clearance), unless you could move the tool box back a couple inches from the front of the bed. Try putting the edge of a 2x4 or similar across your bed about six inches back from the bed's front cross bar and see if your tool box lid will clear it when open. A little contact would be OK because the tonneau cover is soft.
That's a problem for sure. Soft roll up covers would work, but you would have to roll up the cover everytime you needed to get into the toolbox. You MIGHT be able to use a Diamond Back cover. It possibly would give you enough room in the front to open the toolbox. However, the DB has some hardware that hangs down. Click the link below and watch the vid at the top of the page.

Take a look at the Fold-a-Cover G4 Elite. It opens at both the front and rear of the bed and may do what you need. I have one on my 5.5 ft. bed and love it.

I was kind of in the same boat as you, I wanted a tonneau to keep the snow out of my box of the winter to keep it functional but I also have a Alum box that sits on the rails. Ended up taking off my box for the winter and sliding in a few RoughTotes from Rubbermaid, they fit under my tonneau and they hold everything that was in my Alum toolbox, not quiet as stylish though. FYI I bought the Truxport and it seems alright, fits flush, getting a little water in my box but next nice day I am going to fix that up with some weather stripping. Seems to be pretty good quality for the price.
