Ford Hard Folding Tonneau
Ford Hard Folding Tonneau
I've read that the Ford Hard Folding Tonneau is made by BakFlip. Is it the same as the BakFlip HD, or is it the G2?

yes it's made by them through REV, a sub division of BAK. it's the same as the HD but supposedly has better seals and the warranty is 3 years instead of 2 years for the HD. But it's typically a few hundred dollars more than the HD cover.
the guy in the other thread said the new HD/SD coming out next month will have the same seals as the Ford cover.

this video explains the Ford/Bakflip HD cover pretty well: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nEySZ0bLgAI
It locks when it closes. Then you just make sure to lock your tailgate handle (that's where those electric tailgate locks come in handy, I put one on my truck). There's no exposed handles, latches, or keyholes that you have to worry about a theif trying to break into.
It has rubber hinges and rubber seals along the outside edges of the cover (that extend on top of the bed rails and tailgate lip). Water that gets under the seal or hinges is collected by the drain rails.

I just called my dealer about it for my 2010 screw, they were getting ready to close and were having trouble finding it, so i gave them the part number. they calling me back tomorow....Anyody know how much they run?
as far as I heard, some dealers range from $900 to $1100 for it. then I also heard some guys who can get employee discount pricing got it for around $800. The Bakflip HD can be had for slightly less than $800 through the place I got mine from, same exact cover but has just a 2 year warranty instead of Ford's 3 year warranty. contact me if interested in the Bakflip.
kinda interesting there only backing their product for 2 years, since they say how durable and awsome it is....I think it looks great and would hold up to the abuse, but that 2 year warranty discourages me
man, isnt truxedo a lifetime warranty on everything, even the tarp. Its not a hard cover, but if something happens to it at least they will replace it....Hmmmm

I accept with information:The FoldaCover G4 folding cover that people compare the Bakflip HD to, it only has a 1 year warranty.

fjc, so what do you think about the black bed cover with the tan rails? Does it look ok in person?
This photo looks pretty good. I've got a White Sand King Ranch, and am trying to figure out how the black cover will look on the bed rails. I think yours looks better because of your dark paint. Makes it blend a little better. I think I'm going to go ahead and get it sometime soon.
