2008 F150 cap on a 2009

Anyone try fitting a cap from an '08 on an '09? I haven't measured them but they look real close in dimensions. It's be nice to save some cash by using the curent cap.

Looks like the bed on your 2008 is 50.0" wide and the bed on the 2009 is 65.2" wide, sorry it doesn't look like it's going to fit

I have a 2004 Supercrew and a 2009 Supercrew. I assumed that I could move the UnderCover on my 2004 back and forth to the 2009. Three UnderCover dealers said it would not work. The tailgate is also different on the 2009.

where the heck did you get those numbers at? The 09 bed is not 15 inches wider. The beds are the same except for the tailgate. So I don't believe any type of cap or shell or tonneau that wraps over the edges from 04-08 will fit the 09 because it won't wrap over the wider tailgate lip.

Now those covers that just sit on top of the rails will still fit, like the vinyl covers.

Actually I have the Bakflip hard folding cover and the same cover fits from 04-09, the part number is exactly the same.

I used to have an 04 and my Ford rubber bed mat from my old 04 fits exactly the same inside my 09 bed.

SteveVFX4 is exactly right. I've been researching tonneau covers for my new '09 King Ranch...and some of the tonneau cover vendors have just now started building them for the 2009's. So, all manufacturers have the '04-'08 together and a separate line number for '09-'10. And, it is all because of the extra little lip on the tailgate that makes them a little longer. I'm also looking at the LT X-Treme Flat cover that will fit all from '04-'09, as it sits on top of the rails.

Thanks for the replies. My cap comes over on the sides of the bed but not over the tailgate so I may be alright. A little extra foam under it could always make it adjustable anyway. I know the tonneau cover I use also is back from 2000 (Extang?) and it fits fine all the way up to my '08. So the inside bed dimenstions haven't changed in all those years.
