Fit a Motorcycle under a bed cap?

So, I am in the market for a bed cap. Looking at the Leer and a few others.

My main requirement right now is to be able to still get my bike in the back of the bed and it fit under the cap. Is this possible with any of the bed caps out there.

I take my bike to the track often enough that taking the cap off and on will be just too much of a hassle, especially if I am on my own for that weekend.

Its a typical sport bike (ducati 848/yamaha r6). I have a 06 SCREW Lariate, so I will have to have the tail down.

I have a fold-a-cover on mine. My son's YZ85 with 17" Front wheel JUST fits under it when folded up to behind the cab. The wheel goes under the cover and the fender goes over it.

You would have to do some measuring. But with a bed extender and something to chock the front wheel of the bike to you might be able to make it work. Or you could go with a soft roll up type cover.

If you need help with measurements when the fold-a-cover is folded up let me know.

I bet he's trying to camp out @ the track and needs the cap. I've hauled an R6 and 1000rr in mine, but I can't remember if it road above the cabin level. I would think the unloading and loading might be the most critical point. If you can get a cap with enough height make sure it doesn't decrease @ the very back where the door is hinged, if you lose 1" of clearance at that point might make a world of difference.

I bet if you got one of the high rise covers and parked the bike backwards it would work without any problem.

Random google image search for an example

My fault. I misread it.

Yup. Bingo. Give the man a cigar..

I can haul a couple bikes in the back no problem. But, wanted to be able to toss an air matress in the bed and sleep in the back there or use it for shelter during the HOT HOT days.

It's a lot better then hauling a trailer and being stuck to the 55mph limit we have in ca. Plus, I only like taking a trailer when there is more than just me going.

Hmm.. thats not bad. I might be able to even get it tucked in front ways. I am getting some pitbul locks installed in the bed at some point (not chocks, but the axle holders, those things are ****)

Did you ever get a solid answer to your question? I am looking into picking up an older f150 to haul my sportbikes around and I am trying to do the same thing you were trying to do. Secure the bike and have a nice 8 ft bed to sleep in at the track.

Nothing concrete. I have been thinking about getting one of those hitch carriers that might work out.

Right now, I am just loading in the back and have a canopy that I just use for cover.

How about a Softopper? (Excuse the Toyota pics. They have F150 versions, just not animated)

You could fold it forward for hauling the bike. Then fold it back for sleeping in.

I am looking at doing the same thing with ATVs.
