Tie down removal

I did a search, but it didn't turn up anything. I was wondering if anyone on here that has the stepside 04-08 trucks with tie downs on the side of the bed has had them removed and could post some pics of the aftermath. Also did you keep the stock bedcaps along the side? I was just wondering what I could expect to pay a body man to have those holes filled after removing them. I don't understand why Ford had to do them that way.

In case you don't know what I'm referring to, here's a picture of my truck and I circled them.

I have seen filler plates to cover the holes once removed. There will be holes once you remove them.

There are indentations and the lugs inwhich the torx bolts thread into are floating lugs which are inside the bed sides themselves.

Yeah I took one off and saw the hole and knew it was going to be more work than originally planned. I'll have to look for some of those filler plates.

I think I've seen that one. I didn't like how the billet stood out so much.

I'm not sure what they are made out of.

Thanks for all the replies!

Can you get some closer pictures of yours? Dimensions would be great! Also, what wheels are those along with wheel/tire size? Thanks!

Wow that looks amazing. That confirms I will definitely have those shaved and repainted. Thanks for posting that!
