With a factory bedliner? I bought one and then later noticed in the online instructions that you had to "trim" the top bedliner rails. Anyone have any experience with this?

Just how are the bedliner rails secured from the factory? Double sided tape?

I have the revolution and didn't have to do any trimming with the factory bedliner. The factory liners I have seen all run under the rail. That would be the only reason to trim, if your liner goes over the rail. They are super simple to install and take up none of you bed space.

 

Maybe I should be more specific. I believe the bed liner (factory) that I have goes under the rails. On top of the bed rails themselves there are separate plastic guards that protect the rails themselves. These are the ones I thought I needed to trim. It should be here in a couple of days so I should find out.

You won't have to trim. The guides for the tonneou fit right on top of your black rail covers by 3m tape.

 

Thanks. That is what I needed to know. In the installation PDF it made it look like these were removed.
Can't wait until it comes in.

 

The instructions make installation seem harder than it really is. I have a pic of the cover installed in my gallery. Been thru some pretty rough rain and wind with no leaks.
