Mounting a Lund Tri-Fold Cover

I have a 2008 F-150 SuperCrew. When mounting my Lund Tri-Fold cover, the bedrail is so thin that it bends/bows when I clamp the cover down. Does anyone else have this problem and if so what's the solution? I thought about mounting some blocks under the rails for the clamps to clamp on.

Thanks in advance for any suggestions....

I dont have the lund, but I have the Extang Trifecta which is similar... I notched the bed rail caps where the clamps go so the clamps grab the metal underneath and not the plastic caps.
