ARE LSII Keyless Entry Unit

Where can I order a keyless entry (power lock) unit for my ARE LSII?

I would like to save some money over what the local dealer will want to charge. I am certain that I ma more than capable of installing it using the included instructions.

I have been wondering the same question. Let us know what you find out. If I find anything out, I will be sure and let you know.

Thanks,

Yup, and like a good manufacturer, they referred me to my local ARE dealer for assistance.

My Local ARE dealer quoted me $99 for the part and $50 for installation. If I wanted just the part, they said that would be $129 and they said that the thing comes with no printed instructions which is why a dealer has to install it (I don't believe them).

You can do this 2 different ways. They have a new design for the elock that has the locking mechanism built into the palm handle and all components are hidden inside the handle. The other is the old style plunger actuator that bolts onto the existing palm handle bracket.

The one you were priced was the old style set-up which the last one I did here did come with printed instructions and is very simple to do. The pricing is about right on it as well. The reason for the 2 different prices is he was going off of factory installed pricing, if ARE does it when they build the lid then it is a $99 option if you do it after the fact like you are then the price is $129 for the part. I can sell you the parts for $99 and let you install them yourself, only problem is shipping will run around $15 to you from me. Also I will make sure it has the instructions with it so you can do it yourself, or if you want to get it from your local dealer I can email you the instructions or maile you a printed copy.
