Bedliner over Bedsides

I'll be getting a spray-in sometime and was wondering if anyone took off the chincy plastic bedside caps and had those sprayed and the tailgate cap.

How do you fill the holes left behind? I would think the Line-X is strong enough you could put a piece of tape over it and spray.

Do any dealers give discounts for multiple vehicles? My brother got a truck very similar to mine and I'm sure he would want it done too.

It's my opinion that your better off leaving those caps on the truck. You might consider getting aftermarket aluminum caps (that stick onto the factory caps).

The rails are not very nice looking with the caps off.

A dealer most likely will give you some sort of discount for multiple trucks.

Will the bed caps hold the linex if one should want them sprayed too?

Yes, it's pretty common to see them linw-xed.

I've never seen Ford plastic bed rail caps with LINE-X and I would not recommend it. The caps are pretty flimsy and do not provide a very good substrate for the bedliner material.

I'm sorry, TG, I thought you sold it either way. I've seen it, but it was fairly new.

I think most dealers won't do it. Exposed edges (subject to water penetration) and flimsy plastic make for a nervous dealer The best method to spray plastic is to encapsulate it which is not possible on these caps.

When I put my bed rails on, the spacer that went under the plastic bed cap wasn't quite thick enough and all the corners are popping up.
So I really want to get rid of em when I get the bedliner.

I think they would look good if there is something to cover the holes and still spray flush

I was thinking of either getting the holes welded shut and line-x the rail or having a metal rail liner made to replace the stock plastic piece and having it line-xed. Both of these could be a pricey way to go.
