Bed decking
Bed decking
I'm thinking about putting a teak deck in the bed of my truck. Like a boat deck.
caulking and all. I found some teak veneer online that I could attach to plywood and then it would be removable. I don't load the bed too often, tow mostly. What do you guys think?

They just played a re-run on Trucks a few weeks ago when Stacey David was still hosting for an installation of a wood kit for the bed floor in a late model truck.
I cannot remember the name of the vendor. I did a few Google searches, but could not find anything for late model trucks, but the kits are definitely out there.

Even with a bunch of sealant, would a veneer on plywood stand up to outdoor use?
What they call veneer is pretty thick from the looks of it maybe 1/8 to 1/4". Teak is tough and a slab of pressure treated under it should hold up. I'm just going for appearance. The site recommends putting down 1/4" marine grade plywood first and I guess pressure treated would work also. But man teak is huge $$$$ www.island-teak.com
The only person that I know who has done something similar is Lynn at FTW and Ford Truck Space.

Thanks for all the input. I found Horkey's and it looks like he has some nice stuff. That show deck is sweet. I also see he has exotic woods. I'm gonna give him a call. I still like the look of a marine style deck though.

I have not seen his product personally. But, others have reported
Wood floors look pretty cool.
Here's one we had in our shop. White LINE-X Xtra on the sides with wooden floor. Neat old truck...

Xtra is an optional product that resists fading and loss of gloss, is more stain and scratch resistant, contains Dupont Kevlar for durability, is available in black or any color, and is highly recommended if you choose LINE-X.
