Bed boxes post #2

I originally posted a while back how I wanted a flush mounted truck box/tool chest. There was a little confusion as to the style I was talking about, but it's the style that sits on the floor of the bed, between the bed rails (not over), and the front bottom coms up at a 45 degree angle to sit partly on top of the wheel wells. Anyhow, I really wanted this style, and I went to a truck supply place and the guy brought one out to put in my truck to see how I liked it. It didn't fit . In front of the wheel wells, the bed is shaped strange, it comes in at angles from the sides. I thought that one side would be like that for the fuel line going from the filler to the tank, but it's weird on both sides. I don't have pics right now, but just look at any 04+ 6.5' bed and you'll notice it (unless it's a '08 only thing?!)

So really I just wanted to give everyone a heads up before buying a box like this, go to a truck supply shop and check to see that it fits first before you order online or anything. I ended up getting a Deflecta-Shield low profile over the rails black diamond plate box. I think I'm happier this way because though I wanted the between rails chest cause I didn't like the boxes over rails, I do like the fact that I can still use the entire floor of my bed (under the box) for ladders and stuff, and the low profile is really low and clean looking and doesn't clutter up the rear window at all. I just used the two supplied j-hooks for now, don't wanna drill anything on my truck at all!

You needed to find a UWS dealer, they make the chest box to fit in your bed and their boxes are built twice as good as the deflecta/lund.
