Does anyone here regret gettting their truck bed sprayed with Line-X? I'm seriously thinking about it but I know once you do it it's there to stay. This is going on a relatively new truck.

 

If you search for post I have done, you'll see that I've tried them and other sprays over the years. Before I found DualLiner and eventually joined them, I had given up on sprays entirely. In my world, the spray liners couldn't survive for long.

Lot's of guys are happy, depends more on how you use your truck whether you will be happy or not. Harder you use it, the less you are likely to be happy in my experience.

 

Bryndon, did you ever "experience" LINE-X Xtra?

 

I wouldn't have anything else again. Line-x wth Xtra.

Have had Rhino, Toff and Xtreme as well as a drop in and yes a rubber mat.

 

Never had Xtra, although, it wouldn't make a difference in my world. Dents were my biggest issue with Line-X. Of the spray liners, Line-X performed best in my experience. But, putting dents into a $40,000 truck never made me very happy. And that was the area where all the sprays failed miserably for me. Never lasted long enough for the fading to bother me. And for $600, Xtra still doesn't protect me from dents.

I only ask 2 things of any bedliner - to protect the truck and protect the cargo. If it fails at either one, it is like buying a dead battery - no amount of money makes it worth buying.

 

In your world...why do you drop heaving objects in your bed so often and from such heights that you get dents?

I move gravel, rock, mulch, firewood etc, and regardless of liner, when you use a front loader to drop loads in the bed, there are right ways of doing it and wrong ways of doing it. Sounds like who ever is dropping loads in your truck should prob go back to trade school.

I had smooth #5 river rock dropped in my truck and had no problems what so ever. I have also thrown Colorado chop rock in there and never had an issue either.

another reason I like the Line-x and or other spray in liners...is the easy clean up. Just rinse it out. With the drop in, you get water under them....and in your case, you would have to remove all the parts...which takes time.

To each their own I guess. But I will stick with Line-X. Its better for my applications in my real world.

TruckGasm...I'm the Okie that called your shop today and talked to your wife about getting my bed and toolbox sprayed with Line-X X-tra this coming Friday.

I felt like family while there.

 

While I got a fair share of dent from loading, more occured because things slide. If I put numbers to it, 95% of the damage occurs while driving. Ever have an engine block slide form the tailgate and slam the front of the bed?

Most of the loading dents occured from hitting wheelwells with pallet corners (pretty normal occurence if you haul pallets) or tossing things like sledge hammers into the bed - it's a truck. The pallets manage to take any textures off in a hurry.

Load shifts are what cause the moving damage. I used to carry a bunch of tie downs and waste hours tying things down. Now I don't sweat it. Load and drive. I never climb up in the bed to unload, everything stays where I put it.

As for clean up - I haul anything and everything, from sand through rocks through car part - in the company show truck. The only cleaning I had to do was when I had a transmission lay over on it's side (didn't slide!) and spill a couple quarts of gear lube. About a week after it happened, I finally had time for cleaning. Pulled the mat out at the car wash and pressure washed everything. Put the mat back in. Every spray in I ever had would have been (and was) seriously stained by similar events. DualLiner? No stain, no hassle, no trouble.

In previous threads, I've explained how the bed stays clean under the bed - it's really quite interesting, but I'm scooting into a meeting right now, so I can't rewrite it here and now.

 

I just had a bed rug installed and nothing moves around. Way better than the drop in liner I had in my last truck.

 

For lighter duty use, I like the BedRug. It won't protect from dents, but for camping and light duty work, they're OK.

 

I enjoy my rhino liner, sleds and quads and other toys in and out of the box all the time, things don't move around too much and they were able to fill in alot of dents that were in my box before it was sprayed.
