plastic factory bedrails on '00 removable?

plastic factory bedrails on '00 removable?

hey guys, quick question. are the factory bedrails removeable on an 00 f150. it looks to be they are just snapped on or something, asking this because i would liek to get some aluminum diamond plate bedrails. thanks

There are some plastic clips under the inside of the bed rail. They are a real pain in the *** to get loose and you will most likely tear them up, but not a problem if you want to replace them. I tried to take mine off to give em a coat of bedliner, but it was too much of a hassle

yea well i wanna put aluminum bedrails on so i wouldnt care if i tore them up

Nearly all aluminum bedcaps made are designed to go over the existing caps expcept for Putco's and they cost usually about 2-3 times as much as other brands so you really have no need to take the plastic caps off. If you do take them off and try and put the less expensive DeeZee's or other brand bedcap they won't fit right and you will have a mess.
