Extang Solid-Fold tonneau

Anyone know some that have this cover or any type of tri-fold cover?
http://www.extang.com/docs/solidfold.html

Being that's it's a hard cover looks appealing, and still secure enough if you keep valuable gear in the back of the truck.

Good buy or no?

I haven't seen the solid fold in person yet but I have seen a sample/demo of the Trifecta which is the soft folding version. They both secure the same way. The front is held in place by folding clamps which I like. The rear uses a spring clamp. I was messing around with a sample one in a local shop and I found it was very easy to lift up the back end of the folded tonneau even after it was supposedly secure. The spring just doesn't seem to be secure enough.

hey I have had the soft trifold for a couple of years now and I really like it because it comes off quick and then it doesn't take much room if you need to put it in the back to carry something big.....thats my opinion...

I was looking at that one and when I ordered my Reds Beds diamond plate cover. It took so long to ship that I almost canceled it and got the extang but I decided to wait.

I like those, I seen that type of cover on a fellow carpenters truck and it seemed pretty handy. I have a regular snap button soft tonneau on my F250. I'd like to upgrade it to something like that, more secure and easier to use

I've been looking at that very one, real hard. not seen any of them in person but i need some sorta solid cover back there.

i am leaning towards the BAKFlip tonneau right now...4 sections and it will fold up entirely exposing the whole bed. plus FREE shipping right now

Bakflip

I wave the Extang flag...know those folks really well and my company sells a lot of their covers. I have seen the SolidFold in person. It's secure, well-built...but I'm not a fan of how "thick" it is. It is not lo-profile at all. It stands up off the rails quite a bit...boxy...just not stylish enough. Now, it's sturdy enough for you and your friends to riverdance on top of it, but unless you're into that...

Me personally, for hard cover money, I'd go with the Gen2 BAKFLIP. I like the look much better, and it's just as secure as the SolidFold. PM me and I'll direct you to a place where you can get a good deal on a Gen2 BAKFLIP.

Extang's first production run of the Solid Fold did not go well. Most of them were sold in Canada and they had problems. Extang halted production for a while in order to fix the bugs.

Bak had LOTS of problems with their Bakflip. They came out with a re-design which I understand is better.
