Line-X / Tonneau Cover?
Line-X / Tonneau Cover?
I have an '07 SuperCrew in dark stone and am thinking about having a Line-X sprayed in and then eventually installing a fiberglass tonneau cover.
Any recommendations for tonneau covers? Could I see any pics anyone may have of their own? From what I have seen at this point, I think I prefer the Leer 800 Series in dark stone, but have not actually seen a good pic or in person of one.
Also, do you think a Line-X with the DuPont kevlar (I think) is overkill since I will eventually be putting a tonneau cover in and this would prevent any fading?

When I had my Super Duty I had the Line-X sprayed in it. Then I went and
bought the form fitted rubber mat (more traction for the pooch). I topped it off with a Retrax cover. I like the Retrax cover because I could lock it open at any position along the track. If you need to carry something tall with a fiberglass cover you have to lay it down (or take it off) or hope if fits right next to the tailgate. With a Retrax you can carry it anywhere in the bed (with the exception of about a foot of the front). I had the Retrax on my truck for three years and it sat out in the hot Texas sun and other weather and never faded. It looked brand new when I traded the truck. All I ever did was wash it when I washed the truck. Never waxed it. The Retrax would also give you a lower profile in the back. Of course, the Retrax only comes in black as far as I know. The only area it leaked was around the tailgate but all of them will do that if you don't install the tailgate gasket (which I didn't). The most water I ever got in was a little wetness about six inches from the tailgate. Oh yea, the Line-X also looked brand new when I got rid of the truck, hell, the whole truck looked brand new. I take good care of my stuff.

I have an Advance Cover on my truck and love it. It's 4 panel hard cover, folding, with both ends lockable. It can be removed and reinstalled in only a couple minutes solo if you need the full bed accessible. Otherwise, all four panels can be stacked and secured near the cab.
