LineX-How thick?
LineX-How thick?
Got my bed LineX'd.
With the tailgate down and looking at the sides of the bed, How thick should the liner be?
Im curious if I got the required amount or if they put it on thin

I can tell you that generally, it's difficult to tell how thick any bedliner really is. I explain later.
But, to answer your question, it should be about 1/8" to 3/16" on the bed and about 1/8" on the sides and tailgate. The dealer has to be real careful around the area where the tailgate and bed meet. If the liner is too thick, the tailgate won't close.
Here's Rhino, which takes about 30 to 40 seconds to gel, thus gravity makes the liner sink before it gels. This truck is getting some accessories installed. If you were to just glance at the liner, you would most likely think its a real thick bedliner. Look at the area indicated:

I'll zoom in on the hole we're about to drill. Actually, the liner is rather thin on this high ridge, typically where your payload sits.

The thickness of a spray in is 100% dependant on the person doing the spraying and how good they are. I would imagine alot of dealers spray in the 1/8" or less range all over the bed since you can't tell how thick it actually is unless you destroy it digginf into it and they will actually make it a little thicker at the tailgate where you can see an edge to make you believe it is that way over the entire surface. Just a way to make more off of each liner by using less material. I know when I was spraying Speedliner here I would use 4 gallons of material on a short bed and 5 on a long bed which gave a consistent and all-over 3/16" +. 95% of the Line-X's I have seen have been 1/8" or less had one in here the other day that was peeling off the dents on the wheel wells that were made because of the lack of dent protection with a spray-in.
I've seen a few thin LINE-X bedliners myself. There's a another dealer near me (I won't mention the location), that consistantly sprays thin and/or does not prep surfaces correctly and it irritates me to no end. I have a external fuel tank in my shop RIGHT NOW that was sprayed by this guy and the LINE-X is peeling off. Now that it's striped off, I see that there was NO prep whatsoever. We're going spray it the right way.
Color will be Ford's Pueblo Gold to match the customers new brand new F450. We're also applying Pueblo Gold to the bed and front and rear replacement bumpers.
Truckgasm,
In the case of the fuel tank not being prep'd correctly and peeling or in the case of a dealer not prepping the bed correctly and eventually needing repair, I assume that this is covered by lineX and they pay to have it done correctly?

The LINE-X nationwide lifetime warranty that's backed by LINE-X Corporate applies to truck beds only. Everything else is warranteed by the dealer. This customer did not want to return to the original dealer and is paying me to redo it as well as apply Pueblo Gold to his truck bed, front and rear replacement bumpers and headache rack. We also produced his ranch logo and sprayed it in the bed.

That line-x made a great protective coating on that fuel tank, looks like it came straight out of the box.
I wasn't reffering to all Line-X (obviously TruckGasm is an exception) but for the most part the ones I see here these people just wasted $400+. And most of them never use the truck anyway they are just duped into thinking they have to have a spray-in or their truck will be totalled and the bed will fall off in about 6 months from rust. I have a 1988 Chevy with 260K that has had the drop-in in it since we bought it new and has zero rust in the bed, and we have used this truck as a truck and hauled some real loads.
