If it's Line-X, I would call the shop that sprayed it for you and ask them this question. I would have to believe it would flake off after a while. You could probably do a real good washing then use something like 303 aerospace to see if that brings back the shine at all. You would be surprised with what the right product will do to bring back a nice shine to something faded.

No matter what the brand, your best bet is to:

Clean the bedliner with automotive soap and water. Scrub it with a stiff brush. If it's REALLY nasty, use CLR Cleaner (gray bottle) available at Wallymarts or Home Depot. Allow it to dry then apply 303 Aerospace or Just Once (justonce.com). The liner will really soak up the 303 or Just Once the first time, so buy a large bottle or two. Occasionally apply more, say every 3 or 4 months.

it all depends on how bad the bedrails are...if they are too bad, you might not be able to restore them at all. 303 is a protectant that helps guard against the fading from UV rays and has a little bit of restorative power. You might need to just purchase some new rails and then make sure you protect them with 303 to prevent the fading. You can always try 303 first to see if your rails come back to life though and then work from there.
