Xtang RT tonneau

Looking at the Xtang RT tonneau cover. Any thoughts or experience? Is it complete junk, or a fairly decent cover? Found one for $282 delivered from autoanything.com. And the bedrug is on the way from pickupstuff.com for $299.

I loved the one I had on my 02. I wish I would have bought it for this truck. I decided to get a Jack Rabbit this time because I wanted a roll and lock style cover. I don't like it as much as I liked the RT I had. If I could do it over again I would have another RT without question

The RT is a great cover, one of my best sellers. I like the low profile design of it and it also has a lifetime warranty on the tarp and the hardware.

I have an Extang full tilt snapless cover and love it. I have had it for almost 2 years and have no problems with it at all. Is the RT the tilt up one, I can't remember? Mine is the one that tilts up, personally I think that is the way to go. I have had covers in the past with other trucks and thought what a pain to have to undo snaps to get to your stuff. If you can afford the extra $100 I really recommend the full tilt. Good luck it sounds like you have a good plan with whatever you choose.

The RT is a roll top cover like an Access cover. The Full Tilt is just a Classic Platinum or Saber with the extra frame supports and the mounting hardware to allow it to tilt.

I own an RT... Love it. It fits pretty much flush, and there are only 3 bar supports across the bed, but they roll up with the cover when you're not using it. *thumbs up*

I own an RT as well. I love the looks and functionality, but I have never been able get it 100% watertight. Also, if they have an option for the automatic tension adjustment, I would recommend that you look into that. Mine does not have this feature so I periodically have to adjust the tension so its not too loose or too tight. Hope that helps.

Don't bother with the Tonic, just go get some Mother's or 304 Protectant it is what I sell here and you get 3 times as much for the same price. Just avoid Armor All like the plague, don't use it anywhere.

I have a question about the Xtang Rt cover. Does it flap when driving down the highway or does it remain stiff? I want to get a cover that has a flush look and stays rigid wether I'm driving or staying still.

It will concave a little if you don't adjust it tight enough, or if you don't take your time and roll it on properly...... The only issue i've found so far is a slight leak at the tailgate (it rained today). Getting a tailgate seal for it now.

I agree that the R/T is a nice cover. The original design on the R/T really stunk, but it got refined and Extang did a great job with it...I like that lo-profile look that sits flush. From a weathertite standpoint, don't overlook the new Extang Express Tonno. It does not sit as flush as the R/T, but in my experience it is more weathertite. It rolls and unrolls very quickly too. It's easy to seal it.

There are pictures of it in my gallery.
