Install Tonneau Cover in the Cold?

I should be receiving my new Fold-A-Cover in the next few days, and the weather has started to get really cold outside. I know that there is some tape involved with the install, and I'm a little nervous about it not sticking in the cold. Does anyone know if it is ok to do this install while the temps are <35? My truck doesn't fit in the garage, so there isn't a good place to do it. Are there any other negatives to installing this in the cold? The only other thing I can think of is that when it does get warm, the top might expand a little....

Thanks!

i watched the guys install mine this morning and it was a little cold. if it is vinyl like mine it seem they just had a tough time stretching it to fit. other than that it went well and easy. he had said something about getting a heat gun to loosen it if they had to, one corner gave them a fit to stretch. it seems if you get all the corners snug first it should go rather easy.

I just found a set of instructions online, and it says not to install below 50 degrees... I guess that means I'm not installing this weekend! (snow/sleet on the way).

if you get close to the 50's, you could use a blow dryer or heat gun to heat up the tape and the installation surface. Haven't done it with a tonneau but other products with adhesives have been fine with just doing the heat gun.

I once had a soft tonneau and installed it in 30 degree weather. Hardest thing I ever did as far as tonneaus go...took me over an hour to get that thing stretched out.

I suggest waiting until the weather gets a bit warmer...

If you are doing something involving tape, it would be best to wait until its warmer. If you were just trying to stretch (sp?) the tonneau to get it on, stick in the truck with the heater on high for awhile and the put it on quick. Old trick I used to use a lot, sure beats fighting with it.
