Extreme Liners
Extreme Liners
Anybody ever heard of them? I went to the Line-X website and found the closest dealer and game him a call. He said they no longer a Line-X dealer and now do extreme liners. I asked him what the difference was and he said the Extreme had better strength. Any suggestions?
Walk into a Discount Tire store. You will see lots of tires and you know they are ALL made of rubber. Therefore, all the tires in the store are same, right? No, they absolutely are not.
Some bedliner brands like to say they are the same "chemical" as LINE-X and that is not totally true. Base materials, such as polyol resins and isocyanate might be similiar, but that's where it ends. So, just like how tires can have very different physical properties, bedliners also can have very different physical properties.

A MSDS only lists chemicals that are "hazardous" according to OSHA. MSDS's for bedliner products do not list all ingredients.
The dealer switched to Extreme and you say he has an immediate $600 raise. You are assuming that everything else stays the same. I suggest that things are not the same. He has gone from a product that has world wide recognition, contracts with the US Military, national advertising campaigns, etc. to a virtually unknown brand. I'm guessing that his revenue will fall a lot more than $600/month.

Maybe that's true, maybe it's not, but from where I'm setting they both seem like unknown brands, I've NEVER seen an advertisment for either brand, I think Rhino is the only one with worldwide recognition, I see commercials for their product all the time, but no Extreme or Line-X.

I have measured a lot of Extreme liners and the thickest I have found on the floor had been 60 mils thick compared to 125+ mils thick for a Line-X. They are cheaper because they have no lifetime warranty and they have no guidelines to follow as far as thickness. I have seen as thin as 40 mils on the bed of a extreme liner!
