Talking Weatherstriping the tailgate

Has anyone weatherstriped the tailgate before or after installing a bedrug.
I have just ordered one, but notice a LOT of sunlight around the tailgate seams, which means dust will get in. I know someone makes it, I've read about it, just can't find the subject, when you need it.

Pretty sure jcwhitney has tons of weatherstripping, some vehicle specific but also some universal kits and i think they may even have a tailgate weatherstripping kit.

Weather Striping the Tailgate

My 2005 F250 had a wide opening at the tailgate. I purchased the weather striping specifically for this purpose at the local Full Metal Jacket Dealer(spray on liner dealer). It solved that problem. The cost was about $20.00. I suspect it might be the same as what you can find in Home Depot or Loews.

I'm pretty sure you should be able to pick that up at your local Ford Dealership or any place that does Truck Accessories. . . and $20 should get it done. .

I put a bed rug into my 2006 FX4 i picked up 2 weeks ago and didn't put a seal kit in but I am going to shortly. . went throught the car wash for a quick rinse and got just a little water inside the bed around the tailgate. . no big deal but might as well have her sealed up. .. . .

good luck!!

Go to Home Depot and buy some wehaterstripping. It will only cost you around $8-$10. Save some money for another mod. Look for Marine & Automtive EPDM rubber weatherseal.
