the bed bolts are made of aluminum i think.so they won't rust.

Hmmm... I wouldn't have thought aluminum was strong enough.

There are certain grades of aluminum that could be used - at ridiculous expense. The bolts - although I haven't looked lately - are most likely galvanized steel. It holds up better than zinc plating, but eventually will likely show some rust spots.

Sprayed bolts are only an issue if you get wrecked and while there are ways to repair spray-ins, they rarely look good when done.

i have 4 aluminum wheels my 5000 lb truck is setting on.pretty strong.just kidding.galvanized sounds like it would be correct.

Maybe not...

A lot of automotive fasteners use a thin paint-like protectant called Magni-coating. It is thin enough that it allows the use of standard nuts, whereas galvanized bolts require the use of oversized nuts. The magni-coating is also available in several colors as well as silver, which looks similar to galvanizing, but even more like a dull aluminum.

We use bolts with a Silver Magni 555 coating at my company, that is how I found out about it.
