Shpping for a Bed liner?
After much debate and research on the subject of spray ins, I opted not to go that route. I just don't want a $500+ bedliner, which is what it's going to cost to have one that doesn't fade with no maintenance.. and I don't want to have to clean and treat the thing 1 to 4 times a year to keep one from fading.
I opted to go with a drop in. After searching around on the net, I decided to go with the Penda Skid Resistor. Looked nice on the site, more $ than most of the others, supposedly skid resistant........
It turned out to be the biggest POS for a drop in I've ever seen in my life. The thing was already warped, fit like a loose sock and covered the front two tiedowns. It flapped like crazy in the wind while driving and bent the tailgate ends of my rail caps up. It was in the truck a grand total of 24 hours. They weren't real happy to see me show up and ask them for a refund. I had already contacted Penda Corp. about the POS and my plans to return it though.
The dealership is coming today to get the truck and put a factory (Duraliner) in it. I know some here don't like drop ins of any form, but I've never had any problems out of the last 3 factory liners I've had (other than the skid thing) and they fit a million times better than that Penda liner did.
The dealer even beat the aftermarket liner by $30.....installed, they come get the truck and deliver it back... and they're cleaning it up for me while they're at it.

I feel that spray-ons (read: Line-X) are better, however I do not have a problem with drop-ins either. If I were to go the drop-in route, it definitely would be OEM from the factory.
I just had a Perma-Tech liner sprayed into my '05 Screw. Looks really nice, has UV protection throught the liner substance, and cost $400 or so. I'm quite happy with it now. Don't know how it will hold up, of course, but time will tell.
Guess I should clarify that a little bit. When I said dealer, I should have said Ford dealership where I bought the truck.
I'll never have anything done by the aftermarket place I had that first liner installed again. If I hadn't informed them right off the bat that I had talked to Penda Corp. on the phone already and gave them the name of the person I talked to.. I have a feeling things wouldn't have gone nearly as well with them on the refund. The day they installed it, evidently they had the liners sitting out back in the mud somewhere. My truck was spotless when I took it in.. when they rolled it out the entire cab was covered in dried mud where they pressure washed that bedliner out and just blew it all over the cab of my truck. After they took it back out, there was at least a double handfull of dirt clods in the bed of the truck.... which they just left in there. I'm figuring they were stuck on the bottom of that liner and they didn't even bother to clean them off when they threw it in the back of my brand new truck.
My local Ford dealership has bent over backwards to take care of me. Guess it helps that I've bought two new vehicles from them in less than three months though.
