As for that Bedrug, is that carpet? Doesn't that get wet and stay wet, mildew, get leaves and dirt and such that would stain it permanently. I don't know??
I have a Bedrug and love it. I have an Undercover bed cover now, but when I first put the Bedrug in, it got rained on, snowed on, leaves and twigs dropped in the bed, etc. Always drained and dried with no moisture accumulation problems. Simple vacuuming always cleaned up debris. No staining issues.

Mine absolutely will not come off easily. I bolted all four cargo hooks back in place, and used extra hook & loop. I highly recommend both the Bedrug and the Undercover lid.

Bedrug prices went up about $50 from the manufacturer as of 3/1/05. So, if you do a bedrug try to get one at the old price, because usually the price gets passed on to the final customer.

Question Bed Rug owners

For thsoe of you with Bed Rugs, what do you do if you want to haul some mulch/gravel/sand/etc.....?

Do you just lay a tarp down or what? One of the previous posts said "if you don't plan on doing any heavy hauling.....". What do you consider heavy hauling? Is the bed rug susceptible to being crushed?

I'm in the market as well and am considering a bed rug, but I haul the things mentioned above from time to time. So I'm curious what the rest of you do in these cases and if it makes having a Bed Rug difficult.

Thanks for your input.

Matt

Heavy objects do leave an impression, but the 'rug always bounces back! Haven't hauled any mulch or junk around yes, but I like the tarp idea, just for easier cleanup. The 'rug vacumes out nice, but I imagine that would be a lot of vacume time vs a few minutes with a tarp.

Last time I cleaned the 'rug was at a coin wash with the high-pressure nozzle. Worked like a champ!

Question What about water/snow?

How's it do with water penetration? I read the Bed Rug site and see that its 5 pieces that "zip" together when installed?

Has anyone had any problems with water penetrating the seams and getting underneath?

Other than that, it sounds like a good option. I'm leaning that way......

Let me know, thanks.

Bedrug is a good product. The only negative comments I have ever heard (and they are minor) are the following:
1. Only comes in gray.
2. Tends to sag a bit after a while.
3. Traps moisture between the rug and the bed.
4. You need to get used to looking at carpet in your bed.

That would be my main concern, too.

Drop-ins:
1. Rattle/vibrate
2. Warp
3. Can't be repaired
4. No warranty (or not much of one)
5. Trap water and debris
6. Rub the paint off the truck and can cause rust
7. Take up extra space in the bed
8. Generate static electricity
9. Does not conform to all contours
10. Can fly out of the truck bed

Spray-ins:
1. Don't rattle or vibrate
2. Don't warp
3. Can be repaired
4. Have a warranty (LINE-X offers a nationwide lifetime warranty)
5. Creates a permanent water tight seal
6. Does not create rust
7. Allows for more cargo area
8. Does not generate static electricity
9. Dampens road noise
10. Molds to every contour
11. Will not fly out of the truck bed
The other alternative is Dualcomp bedliner - Has all the advantages of the spray in, plus a several more -
12. It can be removed if need be (ever replace your truck?)
13. No one has to grind up the factory paint to install it.
14. Best dent protection on the market.

One more thing, in side-by-side testing, the Dualcomp is the only one that your cargo doesn't slide around on.

Yes, I am Dualcomp factory sales. And yes, I believe in the product, from personal use... I am a truck guy that uses it as a truck.

Bryndon - I'm almost sold on the DualComp... maybe you can help me decide.

Questions:
1. Are there any concerns with the quality of the mat over time? I've heard about possible ripping.
2. Can the mat be replaced with a standard mat later or must it be a DualComp replacement? (if DualComp only - how much for the replacement?)
3. Does the DualComp have openings to fit over the Cargo hooks or are the Cargo hooks removed and remounted over the DualComp (I have a 2005 F150).
4. Any vibration issues with the wall panels
5. What's your return policy?

Do you have any pictures of the DualComp in a 2004/2005 F150?

Thanks!

1. I've been using the same brand rubber mat in my '81 Dodge for MANY years (it's an '81, after all). Use it to haul anything and everything including junk and steel with sharp edges. Never even had a snag, never mind a rip - no issue.
2. Because the sides fit like another layer of steel, any mat would work. We sell replacements (or extra mats) for $80 delivered to your door.
3. Remove the cargo hooks and reinstall.
4. Side panels are literally a second skin on the steel. Between the tight fit and tie downs, there is no movement.
5. If you buy factory direct full refund up to 30 days, less freight. If you buy locally, your retailer may have other policies in effect.

I will try to track some pictures down, we are updating our computer system and I have to get back into the server...

Did I ever mention, our liners can be shipped to your doorstep?

Thanks for the information - I appreciate it!

If anyone else has any experience with the DualComp liner (good or bad), I'd love to hear it.

Thanks
