So this weekend there is a Big Boy Toy Show. Line-X dealer was there and he quoted me a price of $415 for my Supercrew. There was a coupon for $35 that brought price down to $385. I also asked him about undercoating the truck and he said they would do it for $195. He said the undercoating they use is Astroline which is a spinoff of Line-X. I asked him if he could also spray my rear wheel wells and he informed me that they would use the undercoating to spray the wheel wells. I was hoping that they would actually use the Line-X spray for that. Any comments on this?

I talked to the Rhino lining guy and he said they would use the actual Rhino material to do the wheel wells. Sorry about the long post.

 

I'm not sure what you mean by a spinoff. Astroline is LINE-X's undercoating product. It is NOT the same product and the bedliner product. Astroline is a water-based asphalt emulsion. It is what is typically used in the auto industry. Astroline is impervious to water, calcium chloride, salt, other nasty road stuff. As far as the wheel wells, either the bedliner product (XS-100) or Astroline can be used. Which is better? Hard to say. But, Astroline will most likely grip to the well better and it's also better for extended periods of exposure to water.

 

Can they rino line or line-x chrome nerf bars. I like my nerf bar but i wish they were black. new ones are 400 bucks. I think it would be cheaper and look really cool to have nerf bars rino lined or line-xed.

 

Neither LINE-X or Rhino will stick to chrome. The chrome would have to be removed.

...are you sure? I thought that as long as you prepped the bars with 40-grit sandpaper, you could RhinoLine or Line-X anything.


When I modified my 2000 Chevy ZR2 Blazer (complete with 6" lift, 33's and RhinoLined rockers and fender flares) they also did my nerfs and front/rear guards.

 

Under ordinary circumstances, any surface just needs to be roughed up with a sander and then cleaned. With chrome, ALL of the chrome must be removed if you want a good job. There is a little more work involved.
