Pace Edwards Roll top ?

The '98 F150 I just bought has a Pace Edwards roll top on it. Now I know nothing about these, so I need some info. I noticed that one day after I had washed the truck there was quite a bit of water being let into the bed of the truck. Is this normal?
Thanks ahead for any advice or tips.

Do you have the drain hoses on the bottom of the housing fed out through the holes on the front of the bed?

The water goes into the housing which has little tube ends on the bottom, there is supposed to be some clear vynil tubing running out to the bed holes so it can drain out - if these are not in place all of the water is going into your bed.

Hi!

I hope my post can help somewhat, here goes...

I used to own a PE roll-top cover and got rid of it after a year because it was a PITA.
It leaked heavy bear the TG, and it was never seated properly to begin with.

The problem (as I see it) is in order for the roll-top to work perfectly, the install MUST be 100% correct, and it's a big help if the box on our trucks are lined up 100% perfectly straight from the factory.

This is the main problem...
When these trucks leave the factory, the boxes are not "perfectly square" and lined up even.
If it is off by even so much as a half inch on one side, the will affect the install of the roll top cover, and hence it won't work right.

This is what happened to me.

Take a tape measure and measure the gaps between the cab and the box on both sides, see if they are the same. Mine was off by quite a bit.

I hope this helps.

Regards

thank you both for you posts...kirk, the drain hoses are in place but they aren't doing the job. it's not a major problem since I don't carry a whole lot back there, but should I worry about rusting because of this?
