Bed liner since 1994

I have a 1994 f150 bed liner been in place since 1994. Should I take it out and look at the bed? I'm scared to do it but what can I expect. Is it a pain to pop out and back in? Can one person do it?

Thanks

If you take it out and you don't like what you see (paint worn off, rust, etc.) what are you going to do about it? If you take it out and you like what you see, (no paint worn off and no rust), then be happy for the piece of mind that your truck bed is OK.

It's a one person job. The liner is bulky but light in weight if that makes sense. I take my drop-in liner out about once a year to clean out the debris - then spray touch up paint over the inevitable scratches. You don't have to be **** about the repair work's appearance if the liner is going right back in and covering it up.

Why do you need to take it out, just to look under it? Are you leaving it out or replacing it? At the least, you'll see the paint rubbed off in EVERY area that the plastic rubs and vibrates on.

Plastic slide in box linners are garbage, when it's cold, your cargo slides all over the place, when it rains, you have a box full of water, Never again will I buy one, Yes I do like spray on box liner's, but a can of rust proof paint is a lot cheaper and if your worried abought the box of your truck looking pretty, than why drive a truck?

They have their benefits. How do spray in liners handle sliding a pallet of bricks or dumping a load of gravel in the bed? Hard plastic helps prevent denting. Easily sliding cargo can be good and bad for different situations.

Use a bed cover (as little as $200), and you have no worries about water problems.
