Question Ford Soft Tonneau help

Hi

I just found this forum. I purchased a 2003 F-150 Supercab in Sept 2003. At the time I had a soft tonneau cover installed. The cover has a "Ford" tag on it. It is the snapless roll-up type (plastic strip that grips a rail and a rubber strip that holds the edge down at an angle). Does anyone know who makes this cover? The photos I've found on the web for Lund have a similar look for the cover connection to the rail system however the corners of the rails appear a bit different.

Reason I want to contact the manufacturer: Although the cover is pretty watertight when fastened down, I've had it come off once - in very high, near hurricane force, winds. Since then I've noticed a few times that the edge started to lift a bit. I'm wondering if there is anything I can treat the rubber strip/aluminum groove with that will give it more gripping power. If I can ensure the rubber stays in its groove - that more force is required to pull it up - I'm confident the plastic strip will be able to hold it from lifting.

Thanks for any help or information you can provide.

Keith

I have the same "Ford" cover on my '03 Flareside. While I've never driven in very high winds, I've never had it to come off or loose at any time. These covers could be made by Lund, Ford contracts various companies to manufacture their accessories. Sounds as if the plastic locking strip in the cover is defective. If you purchased this cover new from a Ford dealer, then it should be covered under warranty. good luck in getting your problem resolved!
