Question Stupid question?

OK, this is probably a stupid question but if it is, at least you guys might get some mild amusement out of it. Anyway, Ive got a bedliner (couldnt even tell you the brand off hand) and its "slicker than snot on a glass door ****". I'm constantly throwing stuff just inside the tailgate, (8' box with topper) and it always ends up SLAMMING forward to the front of the box. Then I have to crawl on my hands and knees to retrieve it. Very aggrevating. I know I could put a 2x4 or something behind the wheel wells, but then when I need to move it, IT ends up in the front of the box. I thought maybe you guys might have some kind of creative trick or no of some after market gizmo that a person could use. Any ideas?

I'd suggest putting down a rubber mat. That will at least keep "most" of the stuff in place. Phisics will always take over at some point if the load is not secured. You could also build some sort of box and strap it in. Then you put the small items in it. They also have these adjustable bars that will do the same thing as the 2x4, but you can put it anywhere in the bed and when not in use, just move it forward and clamp it down.

I noticed some telescoping load bars that start off in a pretty small package so that you can store them in a toolbox or in your garage/house and take them to the truck and expand them to lock down cargo.

I will nose around and see if I can locate them again. Anyone else know what I am talking about?

Also you may want to look into the bed extenders. I think they rotate with the tailgate up to create a pocket between the tailgate and the extender.

I have a Rubbermaid rubber mat from KMart (about 25.00) that really works well for keeping sutff from sliding arround during normal driving conditions.

Cool

How about using the separation recess made into the side of the bed with 2 X material. A hollow plastic fence board works great.
