Just installed my Herculiner bedliner in my new 01 Supercrew. I don't think I'll be able to move for about 3 days, but the finished product looks nice. I started the prep. work when it was about 90 out yesterday and it took me 3 1/2 hours of hard scrubbing to get the whole truck bed "scratched" I used 7 scotch-brite pads and would recommend at least 10. I did a real thourough job though, and hopefully I won't have any problems with the product peeling. I used acetone to prep the bed after scubbing as I couln't find Xylene. The acetone also works well to remove any of the black paint from your skin when you are done. I also used a drill attachment to stir the product - worked really well and I got a real even application. The painting part was simple - and I used the good blue painter's masking tape which came right off after I applied the second coat. I had to apply the second coat in the dark last night with a flashlight (didn't think this project would take a full 10 hours) and I noticed a small clump of rubber particles about half the size of a dime this morning - I'll see if I can cut it out to make it look even. I used about 3/4 of the gallon and applied it pretty thick - but I only have the 5 1/2 foot Supercrew bed. All in all, I think it turned out really nice - and the workout was worth saving $300. I had the Line-x liner in my 98 F-250 LD for 3 years and it worked very well - and looked a bit more even than the herculiner. If both were the same price I'd probably go for the line-x, but it's worth the savings if you have the time and muscle to prep the truck.
