Line-X colors
I have a white 4x4 SuperCrew and was thinking of getting a Line-X in med grey. The black seem to be to much of a contrast for such a large area. Also thinking the grey would not be affected by fading. Any actual stories? The is a special being offered through my Ford dealer for $299. I this a good deal?
299 would be an excellent price for a srpay-in...I'd get it. You are correct about black being too dark. I have a duraliner drop-in, with a Snuglid cover over Oxford white...it's like a black hole in there, especially at night. Have to hook up a light in the bed

Color is a personal preference but, $299 is sweet.

What dealer is that? I live in south O.C. and Encinitas is not too far from here. $299 is a sweet price. Is that price for any color? What about for a regular size bed instead of the SC short bed? Thanks for the help!

$299 for a Line-X is very good. And near unbelievable for a colored one. They are $400 by me and if you want it colored it's another $100. I'm getting a black one Fri. the way I look at it is the drop-ins are black so it shouldn't be too bad, plus I plan on getting a cover anyway.

OK I have some homework to do.
I do not know if the price is for black only or if it only applies to short beds.
It is an offer through the dealer I bought my SC from for the month of May. I will check to see if the offer is open to anyone or just new purchases. Will report back Fri.

I've also been looking into starting a Line-X franchise near me as the closest one in over an hour away. And I live near three rivers and lots of farms that might use this stuff. The info they sent talks about going through dealers at reduced price as a marketing possibility. So, that may be where some of your savings is coming in. They sent a sample of this stuff and it is some tough plastic.
Best of luck.

Dont forget to look at Permatech sprayed liners (www.perma-tech.com). They match all the factory colors (with UV protection), and they claim that their liners are more easily repaired than Line-X.
$299 is a great price. I paid $319 out the door for black in my regular bed SC. It is true that colors other than black cost extra as does the long bed. I've had it in my truck for 10 months now and LOVE it. Durable and easy to clean.

Thanks for the offer Raoul. I havent decided what path Im going to take yet.
The quality of work of the liner dealer is more important than the liner [chemical] manufacturer. I need to start checking out the various dealers in my area. There is only one perma-tech dealer (va beach), but there are several line-x and rhino dealers around.

Well I to have a Line-X, and I to love mine. Very durable, easy to clean, and just an all-around professional look. And as everyone else has said, great price. I got my spray-in through the local dealer for $300 also. However, here is something to be aware of. From what I've heard, all colors fade! The questions is just how much. I talked to the Line-X guy before he sprayed mine. He was quite honest, a refreshing surprise. He said some colors fade horribly, like red turns into a brownish color. The black fades the least, mostly it just loses its gloss finish and becomes a shade or two lighter. But still very black. He said the gray also fades. I specifically talk to him about gray because that was another color I was considering.
Basically I would recommend you talk to the guy. Get his honest opinion. If you like the gray, go with it. Just realize it may be more work to keep it clean, glossy, and the original color. You may have to clean and protect the liner every week.

OK I know this is late, but here it is anyway. The dealer (Bob Baker Ford) service dept is the one with the line-x special. $299 in black. According to him its $75 extra for color. However, a shop just north of here will do $335 any color.
Does the line-X come in a light gray? This should show little fading. BTW what color is faded grey? I don't think it matters unless it yellows or something similar.

I've seen it in bright yellow so I imagine any shade of grey can be had. I got mine last Friday and it was $398 with tax, plus I had to drive and hour and a half to get there. I still think it's worth it. He sprayed six coats on the bottom , four on the sides, and six on the tailgate. I stayed with him in the shop the whole time asking questions. He removed all hardware from the bed and tailgate before spraying. (bolts, tie-downs, handle access panel, etc.) I even watched him in the booth through a window while he sprayed it. I have gotten lots of compliments on it this week and will be visiting local dealerships to get an idea if they would be interested in sending me business if I decide to go that route. There is a Rhino-dealer nearby but I've seen sloppy work from them.
