Question ? Getting rails sprayed also?

I am planning on getting a rhino or line-x sprayed in, possibly in a contrasting color. I am also considering getting the rails sprayed instead of putting some kind of covers on them. For those of you who have sprayed the rails, how are you liking it, especially if you did a contrasting color (something besides black preferably)? thanks, Albow.

i did a line-x right after getting my king ranch. since the kr comes with plastic on top of the side rails, i only have it sprayed over the front rail. i love it. when i'm washing the truck i'm standing on the rails to clean the roof, and i know i don't have to worry about slipping.

i just went with black for the liner, but the plastic is tan and the truck is blue. the contrast does look real nice imho.

I don't think I under stand what you did here. I have an '03 F-150 FX-4 that has plastic rails along the top of the sides of the bed. I am going to be taking it in for the Line-X here in a few days. Are you saying that you had them spray the tops of those?

Thanks much...

I think he is saying that the top part of the bed that is opposite the tailgate was sprayed (as was mine) there is no plastic rail cover on this front part that he refers to as the "front rail".
It is only a inch or so wide, unlike the side rails that have plastic caps.

DOnt do the rails

In my opinion... leave the rails un touched and look at other options for rail protection. YOu spray them, that's visible from the sides of the truck. IF anything goes wrong or you just decide you don't like the looks of the stuff on the rails afterall, you're pretty much stuck with them anyway. Leave the rails alone and you can look at other stuff to protect them that's removable.

on my 93 lightning i had them done and really liked them. if you live in a truck type community, look at all the trucks that actually haul somthing and if they don't have caps or spray on the rails then they are scratched up and dented. my vote is for sprayed rails, sprayed thick.
