Sanding?

I had a Rhino liner installed on a previous truck I owned. I took the truck to them brand new. The guy at the place pulled out a sander and proceeded to lightly scuff the metal surface in my bed. I thought I was going to pass out when he started doing this. They didn't explain to me before hand that it has to be done to get the liner to adhere.
My question is do they do the same when installing a Line-X liner?

Sanding...

As far as I understand, the preperation of the bed is the KEY step in making sure ALL spray/roll on liners adhere properly.

Sanding is followed by the the apllication of certain solvents to make sure the liner adheres to the bed without peeling off later.

I totally understand that "pit in yuor stomach" feeling ..

I bet the liner looks great,... enjoy!
